The fifth single off of IRENE PEÑA’s unique monthly track-by-track reissue of her 2011 debut album Nothing To Do With You is coming in hot! “One More Night” is here!

“One evening I went out for coffee with a group of friends. We sat and talked, and had good fun catching up. Most memorably – and the inspiration behind the song – was my friend saying ‘I don’t know how you write songs.’ My response: ‘Oh, you can write a song about anything.’ And then, the dare. ‘Oh really? OK – write a song about tonight!’ Challenge accepted.”

Story tells - after continuing the night and visiting more friends along the way, Irene took mental notes and after shutting the door on the evening, retreated to her bedroom – not to sleep, but to stay awake to start and finish this story (bops and all) about an unforgettable, yet routine evening out with friends. After recording (to cassette) the multi-tracked finished product, and taking a power-nap, Irene walked the new song-on-tape over to her friend’s house. Challenge completed.

The Tenth Anniversary celebration of Nothing To Do With You continues as part of the Big Stir Singles Series (curated by Peña herself) and leads towards the follow-up full-length album we are all anticipating.
